ABOUT THE SOFTWARE

Plug-In Switch 1.3

With hundreds of plug-in filters now available for expanding your host applications, it becomes essential to have a quick and easy way of organising all the installed files. Plug-In Switch was developed in order to help users disable filters on a temporary basis and re-enable them again when needed, without having to completely uninstall the plug-ins each time. Another handy time-saving tool.

This utility currently supports only Photoshop (*.8bf) plug-in filters.

WHAT'S NEW?

Version 1.3 has been recompiled with a new interface design.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (PC)

Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11

INSTALLATION

1. Unzip the PluginSwitch.zip file to a suitable folder on your hard drive, for example... C:\Cybia\PluginSwitch.

2. Manually create a link (if needed) in your Start Menu or on your Desktop and click on the PluginSwitch.exe link to run the program.

To uninstall the program, delete the folder containing the files and any links you created.

HOW TO USE PLUG-IN SWITCH

The first time you run the program you will NOT see any plug-ins displayed in the file windows. Click on the "Browse for Plug-Ins Folder" button in the bottom left corner and select the directory on your hard drive where you have *.8bf filters installed (i.e. C:\Photoshop\Plug-Ins). You should then see a list of items in the left window.

Select a filter you would like to "disable" and click the "Switch OFF" button. The program will rename the file extension from *.8bf to *.off and the file should then display in the right window, showing it has been de-activated. To re-enable the filter, select the file again and click the "Switch ON" button.

You can only select ONE file at a time. Batch-processing is not possible with this version I'm afraid.

You can switch between "Icon View" and "List View" by clicking the appropriate buttons in the bottom bar.

Please remember to close Photoshop (or other graphics application) BEFORE switching filters on and off. The settings will take effect the next time you start your host program.
